Monterey Bay Aquarium Jellies Experience

May 1, 2014 By Jeff 15 Comments

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is the best aquarium that I have ever been to. I do not visit many aquariums but I do not remember another one being as good as this. I spent most of the day there and still did not get to see everything.

The aquarium has an impressive collection of exhibits including the new Tentacles Exhibit but my favorite was the Jellies Experience. I kept returning to it to watch the mesmerizing Jellies swim around the tanks. I doubt there is another aquarium in the world that has this extensive of a display of Jellies. I could not get enough of it.

Below are some of photos and videos I took during my visit.

JELLIES EXPERIENCE VIDEOS

The first two videos are of Blubber Jellies. They are so much fun to watch and the psychedelic music enhances the whole experience. The last video is of a Purple Striped Jelly that looks so elegant as it floats through the water.

Wow! These turned out really well! And I agree that this exhibit is amazing. I actually found that my phone took some better photos than my nicer cameras at the aquarium 🙂

We visited the Monterey Aquarium two summers ago. I remember seeing the jellyfish exhibit. It’s very impressive. Great videos, it truly captures all of their moments.

WOW, superb photographs. I’m dreaming of swimming with these incredible creatures in Palau. To see them up close would be a dream come true!

Lovely shots, especially from a cellphone. The aquariums do a great job of displaying these jellies with coloured backgrounds to create beautiful effects. It’s like watching angels dance through space. I photographed some at Toronto’s new aquarium as well, sorry I didn’t get more shots.

    Cool shots and video!
I LOVE aquariums! They make me feel like a kid again. I’m so curious to all that’s still hidden in the depths of our oceans.

This aquarium had some of those deep sea animals that had never been displayed before. It was interesting.

Wow, this so awesome. I’m sure my kids would love this place. They always want to travel and look at new things like this. Me and my wife want to expose them with these too so they can learn a lot.
