Cruising the Route 66 Car Show in Flagstaff Arizona

January 24, 2014 By Jeff 12 Comments

Cruising Route 66 in a classic car is one of the worlds great road trips.  Since I do not have a classic car I did the next best thing and attended the Route 66 Car Show in Flagstaff Arizona.

Route 66 Car Show Chevy

Red Classic Buick Coupe

The event takes place every year during September and is one of my favorite events to attend in Flagstaff.

Yellow Cab at the Route 66 Car Show

Custom Yellow Taxi

The show takes place in the Historic Downtown area of Flagstaff.  The streets are closed off and are filled with car owners and car lovers checking out all the amazing automobiles on display.

The show allows any type of car to register for the event which means that you will see anything from a custom Ford Model T to something a little more modern.

Jail Bird Express

Rat Tod

Rat Rod

Replica Back to the Future Delorean

There are plenty of interesting shops and good restaurants in the area to keep you busy when you are not checking out the cars.

Blue Chevrolet Custom Truck

I recommend checking out the Route 66 Car Show if you like classic cars or are in the area.

Oh my, what a lot of stunningly well-kept cars! I know nothing about what they are or how old or how fast they can go, but they sure are pretty! Great pics.

Most of the cars pictured are about 50-60 years old. I love that people restore and maintain these cars for future generations to enjoy.

Wow there’s some lovely cars here! We just did a road trip in the US, I wish it could have been in one of these!

I don’t know if it would have been as comfortable in one of those but it would have had a lot more style.

Oooh! I will have to tell my dad about this! I practically grew up at classic car shows! We own a ’56 Belair sport coupe and we used to own a corvette! I could hula-hoop and rock a poodle skirt and saddle shoes like one else! Still to this day, I visit classic car shows with my dad, so this is one we may have to check out one year! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

Great cars! When I was traveling in West Coast back in 2010 I was lucky enough to see a similar show in one of the small towns we just stopped for coffee! Impressive!
