Casa Batlló is one of my favorite building designed by Antoni Gaudí. It is located on the beautiful Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona Spain. The design is hard to categorize but is built in a similar style to Modernisma or Art Nouveau. It really fits into a category all its own because it is so unique.
The house if often referred to as the “House of Bones” because of the way the exterior structure has a skeletal design.
There are almost no straight lines in the house. Even the staircase is rounded.
The mushroom shaped fireplace is surrounded by a benches on either side to create a more intimate conversation area.
The interior windows are even rounded with patterns imprinted on the glass.
The back patio of the house has interesting tile patterns and ornate iron fencing.
The roof is one of the more popular areas of the house with uniquely shaped chimneys covered with ceramic tiles.
I would highly recommend a visit to Casa Batlló if you are in Barcelona.

Gaudi’s masterpiece is truly amazing. I’ve been to Spain, but never in Barcelona, which is a pitty. I really love the photos x What did you do after visiting Casa Batllo?

I have been to Barcelona twice and have visited all the major Gaudi building each time. I can not get enough of them. You should definitely visit Barcelona if you go back to Spain.
